libpackage-pkg-perl software package provides collection of package manipulation utilities, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpackage-pkg-perl
libpackage-pkg-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpackage-pkg-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpackage-pkg-perl *
You will get with libpackage-pkg-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
